Product Spotlight: XENON

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

The most popular tungsten ring with inlay gracing the pages of our site, the XENON tungsten carbide ring has been a customer favorite for quite some time. The perfect combination of classic styling and new-age functionality, it’s easy to see why this ring is so appealing to casual wearers and soon-to-be-weds alike. Here’s a closer look at just what makes this tungsten ring such a favorite.
Specs:
• 6mm or 8mm width
• 2mm wide Sterling Silver Inlay
• High polish tungsten carbide band with beveled edges
• Qualifies for free laser engraving

Width
The XENON comes in both 6mm and 8mm wide widths. Traditionally, 6mm is the common width of a wedding band, with the 8mm width becoming the new trend. The two widths are also great for matching wedding band sets, in most cases the groom wearing the 8mm wide version and the bride in a 6mm wide band. Depending on your personal preference, there is a width selection for you.
Inlay
The XENON is fitted with a 2mm wide inlay of 925 Sterling Silver. This wide inlay is used in both width selections, so even if you decide on a 6mm wide band, you’ll still get the same amount of sterling silver used for your inlay.
Sterling silver is a traditional precious metal alloy based on a thousand-part scale. Silver is too soft in its pure form, but by alloying it with other metals, most commonly copper, sterling silver is created. Sterling silver is a much more functional form of the precious metal, while maintaining many of the preferred aesthetic qualities of silver. To be classified as sterling silver the metal must contain 925 parts fine silver on the thousand-part scale, anything less cannot be called sterling silver.
Beveled Edges
An update on the “pipe-cut” styling, beveled edges add a modern look to the classic band. The angular feature at each edge offers just that bit more of style many customers are looking for. They continue to be one of the more popular features of our tungsten carbide rings, as shown on the OLYMPUS and PROMETHEUS as well.
Engraving
Like all of the tungsten rings shown on the site, the XENON is able to be personalized with your laser-engraved message. And as an added bonus, the XENON is one of the many rings on the Tungsten World site that qualifies for free engraving.
